Since 2009 Sarah Weatherill has been addicted to Red Bull. And when we say addicted, we mean addicted.

The 31-year-old drank an unbelievable 24 cans of the energy drink every day, spending £105-a-week on the stuff.

Sarah’s addiction began in 2009 when she was studying for a law degree, and was at its worst in 2010, when the mum-of-four was juggling law exams with family life.

She explained: ‘I was pulling all-nighters and using them to stay awake and it got to the point where I just needed it to function.’

Sarah Weatherill who was addicted to drinking 24 cans of Red Bull energy drink a day whilst studying Law. A mum-of-four has finally overcome her addiction to Red Bull after using hypnosis to end her shocking habit of downing a whopping 24 cans every DAY. See NTI story NTIREDBULL. Sarah Weatherill forked out a staggering £5,460 every year - on the energy drink which is extremely high in caffeine. The 31-year-old's addiction was at its worst in 2010 when she was studying for on a law course at college and was under pressure to revise for exams. She used to pay £15 every day, or £105 every week, to make sure she had enough Red Bulls for her 24 can a day habit - which is the equivalent of 48 cups of coffee. Sarah said she soon became dependent on the energy drinks and wouldn't get out of bed unless she knew she had some in the fridge. The mum-of-four also became lethargic and depressed and was constantly feeling anxious as the addiction grew. She finally decided to do something about the problem this year when she realised the constant need for Red Bull had changed her personality. And Sarah beat her demons earlier this month after she visited a hypnotherapist who persuaded her to cut the habit completely.

With an incredible 80mg of caffeine per can, Sarah’s energy drink habit obviously had serious implications for her health.

Sarah admitted: ‘There would be times when I would get palpitations and shakes’, but went on, ‘but I think I just got used to the caffeine.’

And the drinks weren’t just having a negative impact on her health – Sarah’s habit was also pretty costly. In fact, over the course of her addiction, she spent an estimated £5,460 on Red Bull.

But eventually, even Sarah realised she had a problem. She admitted: ‘I used to get my shopping delivered and used to have four or five crates and that only lasted for a week – it got out of hand.’

And now, thanks to just one 50-minute with cognitive behavioral hypnotherapist David Kilmurry, Sarah claims she is cured.

Talking about the session, Sarah said: ‘It was a weird process, I felt like I was in there for 15 minutes but it was 50 minutes.’

She went on: ‘All I can remember is that it was like a kaleidoscope effect, I remember him saying I didn’t need Red Bull.’

And although she’s only been Red Bull free for a couple of weeks, Sarah’s convinced she’s off it for life.

She said: ‘I am convinced I won’t have another can. I feel like a different person.’
