Do you feel like you’ve tried everything to lose weight? Have you gone on diet after diet only to gain the weight back? Are you sick and tired of feeling like you hardly eat anything, you’re hungry all the time and you still can’t lose weight?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions you are not alone. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), Obesity is defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater. BMI is calculated from a person’s weight and height and provides a reasonable indicator of body fatness and weight categories that may lead to health problems. Obesity is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, certain types of cancer, and type 2 diabetes.

As  personal side note; BMI is probably not the best prediction on determining obesity on an individual basis because it doesn’t take a person’s body composition into consideration but when looking at large statistics such as obesity rates in the US it seems to make sense.  If you are concerned that you may be obese or that your current body weight may put you at greater risk of developing specific diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and specific forms of cancer your doctor would be able to give you a more appropriate diagnosis.

What’s important to take from this study is that despite all of the diets out there, all of the weight loss products on the market and all of the weight loss surgeries that are now becoming more and more popular, obesity rates in the US still continue to rise.  So, you may be asking yourself “why” with all of the health education and initiatives available, why do obesity rates continue to rise?  One possible answer to that question is human nature.  As human beings we begin to develop thoughts, habits, patterns, beliefs and behaviors from the time that we are born and many times these thoughts, habits, patterns, beliefs and behaviors can be difficult to change on our own.  For example, if we have been conditioned to finish all of the food on our plates while growing up, we may have difficulty controlling portion sizes as adults.  Hypnosis has been proven to be one of the most safe and effective forms of behavior modification available.   Through hypnosis, we help our weight loss clients eliminate cravings for specific foods such as sugars and carbohydrates and gain greater control over eating habits and behaviors.  Many of our clients have experienced significant weight loss, even as much as 150 pounds.  Once you begin to change the way you think and feel about food it becomes easier to live a healthier lifestyle which of course will result in long term permenant weight loss.  For more information about our hypnosis weight loss programs and our Pittsburgh Hypnosis Center please visit www.pahypnosiscenter.com or call us at 724-934-8446 to schedule your FREE Consultation and Evaluation.
